Obituary of Gyla Murdock

Gyla Y Murdock, age 89 years, passed away on November 18, 2017 in Camas, Washington.  Gyla was born to Guy and Ruby (Hilyard) Masterson on April 9, 1928 in Portland, Oregon.

Gyla received her Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Oregon and was a member of the PHI BETA PHI sorority.  She also attended Reed College in Portland, OR.  She was a member of P.E.O. of SW Washington.  She was a longtime board member of the Camas Public Library.

Gyla other interest were the Washington Education Association and the National Education Association, she supported the Columbia Land Trust and was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church of Camas, Washington.

She is survived by her three sons; Duncan (Karen) Murdock of Denver, NC, Stuart Murdock of Roseburg, OR, Gregory Murdock of Tacoma, WA; daughters, Noreen (Allan) Oelschlaeger of Milwaukee, WI, Cheryl (Ron) Berenson of Seattle, WA; brother, John E Masterson of Bend, OR; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gordon Murdock. 

A memorial service will be held February 10th, 2 PM at St. John's Presbyterian Church. 1206 NE Birch St, Camas, WA 98607
