Gestures
I met Shannon while in labor with my first child. She brought peace, calm and confidence into my birth experience. While the nurse before her had dishonored me in every way, Shannon empowered me, respected my wishes, looked me right in the eyes, affirmed me, and cheered for me as I brought my baby into my arms. I requested her presence at my second child's birth, and she came in on her day off to be with me, hold my hand, breathe with me. She continued to reach out beyond my birth, encouraging me as a young mother. I pray peace for her family as they grieve her loss, and I pray God welcomes her sweet soul into Heaven.
Shannon was such a joy. I enjoyed her positive attitude while I worked with her at Adventist. Several times when our paths crossed after we worked together I enjoyed her energy, her smile and friendliness. She impacted the lives of many. You will be missed my friend.
