Eugene Chapman passed away on April 3, 2018 at the age of 86.

Eugene was born on July 12, 1931 in Christopher, Kentucky to his parents Stella and Edgar Chapman. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict, and worked as a wood treating engineer. A 58 year Ridgefield resident, Eugene had a passion for music (especially bluegrass), and enjoyed gardening, tinkering and building birdhouses, yard sailing, golfing and traveling with his wife and family.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois at home; his children: Rebecca (Martin) Casey of Vancouver; Theresa (Bob) Melton of Yakima; Kenneth (Caroline) Chapman of Brush Prairie and Vickie Chapman of Honolulu; grandchildren: Christina, Geno, Robert IV, Addie, Eric, Danielle and Katherine; 6 great-grandchildren; his sister Reda (Terry) Stine and his brother Gerald (Betty) Chapman, his nieces Debbie, Diana, Donna, Connie, Crystal, Darlene, and Vickie, nephew Jim, as well as many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Stan, his brothers Marvin, Jim and Ken, sister in law Faye,  and his neice Dee.

A memorial service will be held on April 10th, at Noon, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Brown's Funeral Home.
