Theodore "Ted" Earl Mattson, of Kennewick, Washington died on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at his home. He was 70 years old. Born on June 6, 1934, in Dunn Center, North Dakota, Ted graduated high school in 1952. Ted was later drafted into the United States Army, where he was stationed for two years in Germany. Upon leaving the service, Ted moved to Camas and worked for Crown Zellerbach for several years before moving to Seattle where he worked as a machinist for Spencer Aircraft in the aircraft industry. Upon his retirement, Ted moved to Colorado before moving back to Washington four months ago. Ted is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rosemary, his daughter; Joyce Stieben of Nevada, and his two sons; Jeff Mattson of California, and Tim Mattson of Idaho. Ted also leaves behind his two sisters; Sharon Baines of Vancouver, and Dianne Karthauser of Kelso, Washington, and two brothers; David Mattson of Camas, and Denver Mattson of Pasadena, California, along with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother; Douglas Mattson, and his grand-daughter; Sandy Bernard. There will be a memorial service for Ted on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Private interment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
