Scott Keene Obituary

On June 29th at 1:30pm, Scott Keene (67) was called to the Lord’s heavenly side after passing peacefully in his home in Washougal, WA with his loving family by his side after a 5 year battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma.

Scott was born on July 26th, 1957 in Pensacola, FL, the second child to his parents Tullie Keene (former Navy veteran) and Linda Gordon. Although he was born in Florida, he spent most of his life in California. Him and his wife Angelica, often visited and fell in love with the Pacific Northwest so they decided to follow their dreams of owning a home and made the move to Washougal, where they happily resided for the past 6 years.

Scott attended the fire academy which he eventually left due to family reasons. He then took to woodworking at a young age, which became his lifelong passion and career that led him to learn to draft, and to become an independent custom cabinet maker. If you were fortunate to know Scott during his life, you knew his keen eye for detail went beyond his cabinet making. He loved observing the design and details of everything he saw built out in the world, often excitedly sharing the knowledge from his craft with those around him.

Scott had a bright and curious mind that constantly sought to learn more about everything he could, whether it be how something is made, to how the galaxies form in the night sky. His laugh and sense of humor were some of his many loveable traits. He was a lover of road trips, photography, smooth jazz, throwing peanuts to the squirrels in his backyard, looking for shooting stars and planets, watching Jeopardy and old movies (especially western ones with John Wayne starring in them), making funny faces when getting his picture taken, and most importantly being a man fully devoted to the Lord and to his family.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife Angelica, his four children Ashley, Stephanie, Ariel and Joshua, his sweet grandson Sebastian and his two brothers Gary and Steve.

Scott will forever be remembered as a strong and loving husband, father and grandfather. He is deeply missed by his family.

At Scott’s request, there will be no funeral service. He now eternally rests by his parent’s side in a beautiful lake in Oregon.

James 1:12: "Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him."

Matthew 25:21: "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"
