Will Johnston
February 18, 1974 - August 23, 2025
Charles William Johnston III, "Will" to all that knew and loved him, left this world far too soon. He passed away on August 23, 2025, surrounded by family and the love of all who knew him. Born on February 18, 1974, to Chuck and Debbie Johnston, Will spent most of his life in Washougal, Washington. He graduated from Central Washington University in 1996 and worked at Georgia Pacific in Camas for over 20 years. Most recently, he was employed as an HVAC technician.
Will married the love of his life, Tabitha (Beadle), on September 11, 1999. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with joy, humor, and devotion. They raised two sons, Tyler Johnston (wife Trinity) and Tanner Johnston, who were the pride and joy of his life.
Will is survived by his parents, Chuck and Debbie Johnston; his sister, Kim Boekholder (husband Steve), and their children, Ryan and Aly; as well as his nieces and nephews, Alan, Keira, and Megan (children of Candace and Jason Stogin).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Janie Johnston, Virginia and Eddie Miller, and Robert Steinhauer, along with many other cherished loved ones who have now welcomed him home.
Will lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, laughter, adventure, and unwavering love. He had a gift for making everyone feel seen and valued whether through his clever humor, thoughtful advice, or simple acts of generosity. He had a remarkable ability to bring out the best in people.
His children remember him as kind, encouraging, supportive, clever, reliable, witty, loving, and giving. Will expressed love in both big and small ways. He had an adventurous spirit and a passion for the outdoors, motorcycles, hunting, fishing, cool gadgets, and spending time with family and friends. He was just a big kid at heart, always finding joy in playfulness and the simple pleasures of life.
Will also had a deep love for animals. Whether it was a loyal dog by his side, a stray he took in, or simply watching wildlife in nature, he had a gentle way with creatures that reflected his compassionate heart.
To many, Will was a safe space, a steady presence who was always ready with a solution, a word of encouragement, or just a good joke.
He leaves behind not just memories, but a legacy of humor, kindness, and joy that will never be forgotten.
In keeping with Will's wishes, there will not be a formal service. The family appreciates your love and support during this time and encourages you to honor Will in your own way through laughter, kindness, and time spent with those you love.
