James “Jim” Arnold Cobb peacefully passed away in Vancouver, Washington on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Born on April 25, 1929 in Portland, Oregon to Karlton and Johanna (Schott) Cobb; Jim was 96 years old.

Jim was raised in Camas, Washington and attended Evergreen High School (formally the “old” Union High School). He would later enlist in the United States Army and would retire as a full Colonel from the Army Reserves; proudly serving from 1958 to 1989. He was a Teamster who worked in the construction industry and retired in June of 1980.

Jim was an active fisherman, fishing the “Pacific Northwest” in all its abundance. Model airplanes were also a keen interest, and he enjoyed building and flying them, especially as a member of the local Fern Prairie Modelers Airplane Club.

Jim was a Past-Master and Secretary of the North Bank Masonic Lodge #182 in Washougal, and has been a member of the Masonic organization for over 61 years, 20 years as the Lodge’s secretary. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, and an AFIFI Shrine Clown since 1980. As a Shriner Clown; he was known as KLUTZ the Magnificent often performing for many years for the kids at the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Porland and making them smile. He also supported the Portland Children’s Burn Center and Shriner fundraisers. He was an active volunteer of the Clark County Juvenile Court System for 27 years and the Two Rivers Heritage Museum in Washougal.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Lois at home; five children, five grandchildren, five-great-grandchildren and numerous friends and Masonic Brothers.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at PeaceHealth, the staff at the Ray Hickey Hospice House, and their hospice providers. They took extra effort to keep our loved one comfortable and peaceful through his final transition; THANK YOU!

A private graveside service was held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to the Two Rivers Heritage Museum: PO Box 204 Washougal, WA 98671, The Ray Hickey Hospice House or the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Brown’s Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
