He was a good friend to my father. We still have the flowering crab apple tree he gave mom. I always think of the yellow Blazer, his unique voice and that awful Halloween mask.
My whole life I heard the story how “Fredrickson” taught my dad, Don Davis, how to waterski. They worked together at the mill. He said they went to Lacamas Lake and Fredrickson told him to HANG ON! He punched the throttle and flew up and down the lake with his buddy laughing the entire time. My dad was so terrified he couldn’t let go. It was one of my dad’s favorite stories to tell. He said Duane Fredrickson was a great guy! Now they are laughing over that story together in heaven.
