Obituary of Charles Knight

Charles "Chuck" Perry Knight passed away in Vancouver on April 25, 2011. He was 77. Chuck was born on August 29, 1933 in Lafayette, Indiana. On June 3, 1953 he married his life-long soul mate, Patricia. Chuck served his country first in the Ohio National Guard and attained the rank of Sergeant. He went on to active service in Germany in Company A, 40th Tank Battalion. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and Army Occupation Medal. He left the service with a rank of Corporal. Chuck had a son, Larry, and daughter Deborah. He moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona in 1962. He went to work with Shell Oil Company. He later retired and in 1989 he and his wife moved to their favorite place -Washington State- where they lived near Fargher Lake. The rest of the family soon followed them there. Family members said Chuck loved God and was very involved in his church and he will be missed greatly by family and friends. Chuck is survived by his wife, Patricia of Fargher Lake; daughter Deborah (Carmen) Gallino of Yacolt; son Larry (Cheryl) Knight of Battle Ground; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his mother Leota (Barnhart) Knight in 1973; father Robert Knight in 1950; and granddaughter Holly Gallino in 1988. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 14th at 11:00 am at the Church of the Holy Spirit: 2400 NE 9th Avenue; Battle Ground, WA 98604. Private vault interment was held at the Lewisville Cemetery in Battle Ground. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Church of the Holy Spirit for the North County Community Food Bank. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
