Obituary of Steve Johnson

Steven Gordon Johnson peacefully passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. Born on October 6, 1942 in Portland, Oregon; Steve was 68 years old. A lifetime Portland resident; Steve graduated from Franklin High School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War Era and later worked for the Gresham Fire Department. Steve is survived by his daughter Dawn (Chett) Anderson of Utah; son Eric (Carie) Johnson of La Center; brothers Don Johnson of California, and Charles "Chuck" Johnson of Vancouver; sister Leslie Johnson-Banks of Ridgefield; eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother John Johnson. There will be a celebration of Steve's life with full military honors on Tuesday, May 24th at 1:00 pm at Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene: 16807 Northeast Fourth Plain Road Vancouver, WA 98682-5198. Private interment will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
