Marion A. "Jack" Stinson Jr. passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. Born on December 19, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas to Marion Arthur and Gladys I. (Lipperd) Stinson; Jack was 76 years old. A Vancouver resident for the last seven years, Jack was formerly from Enumclaw, Washington. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and the United States Navy during the Korean War, and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Enumclaw. Jack enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. Jack is survived by the love of his life of 53 years Betty at home; daughters Helen Bechtel of Lincoln, California, Lori Wenke of Ephrata, Washington, and Julie Gott of Vancouver, Washington; brother Donald Stinson of Lakewood, Washington; sisters Marilyn Hoover of Coupeville, Washington, and Wanda Carter of Brookings, Oregon; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. There will be a celebration of Jack's life with full military honors on Thursday, August 18th at 3:00 pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
