Jean A. Drott peacefully passed away on Wedneday, August 24, 2011 at Peacehealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver . Born on February 20, 1945 in El Paso, Texas to Carlton Lee and Esther Marie (Brixius) Sandhorst; Jean was 66 years old. A Washougal resident for the last twelve years; Jean was formerly of Vancouver , Tri-Cities, and Tacoma , Washington . She graduated from Mt. Tahoma High School in Tacoma in 1963. She worked as a cook for both the Pasco School District and Vancouver School District before her retirement in 1998. Jean was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Camas and was devout in her faith. She also enjoyed crafting, sewing, painting, gardening, flowers, cooking, and visiting the beach and the mountains. Most of all, Jean enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Jean is survived by her loving husband of 22 years David Drott at home; daughter Deanne (Manuel "Jr.") Gomez of Sunnyside, Washington; son Curtis Forsman of Pasco, Washington; step-children Bruce Drott of Seattle, Kristen (Robert) Wertman of Buffalo, New York, and Deanna Dorlarque of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; brothers Michael Sandhorst of Puyallup, Washington and Steven Sandhorst of Seattle, Washington; and ten grandchildren. There will be a Funeral Mass for Jean on Thursday, September 1st at 11:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church: 324 NE Oak Street , Camas , WA 98607 . A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, August 31st at 6:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Vault interment will be held at the Camas Cemetery. Memorials in Jean's honor may be sent to the American Lung Society. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
