J. David Gurney passed away on August 11, 2016. He was 49 years old. David was born on October 18, 1966 in Tarry Town, New York, to his parents Ralphena and John Albert Gurney. David was a 5 year resident of Camas, previously of Wellington, Florida. He received his Bachelor’s degree from B.Y.U, his Master’s from the U of O, and went on to work in the technology industry with Hewlett Packard for 20 years. David loved the outdoors (especially biking and hiking), he was active in scouting, and also participated in triathlons, but his greatest love was that for his Lord and his Family. David was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – Fern Prairie Ward. Survivors include David’s loving wife of 28 years, Katie Gurney; their three sons: Taylor Gurney of West Palm Beach, FL, Steven Gurney of Eugene, OR, and Hunter Gurney of Salt Lake City, UT; his father John Albert Gurney; his two sisters: DeNeece Tueller and Michelle Van de Graaff as well as his Aunt, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. David was preceded in death by his mother Ralphena, and his Newphew Caleb. A celebration of life service will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – 18300 N.E. 18th Street, Vancouver WA. A burial will follow immediately at the Fern Prairie Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Brown’s Funeral Home – those who wish may sign the online guestbook at www.brownsfh.com
