Richard Dean Davis returned to his Lord with his family by his side at his home in Washougal on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Born on November 7, 1931 in Sisseton, South Dakota to George and Florence (Fehl) Davis; Richard was 80 years old. A Camas-Washougal resident since 1967, Richard went to work as a beaterman for Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill in Camas before retiring at James River Paper Mill in Camas. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy honorably serving during the Korean War. Richard was a member of Parkside Church in Camas and the A.W.P.P.W. Local #5 in Camas. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Cherrie Davis at home; sons Richard A. Davis of Gilroy, California, Robert Davis of Manteca, California, Jamie Davis, and Sherman E. Davis of Camas, Washington; daughters Deborah Davis of Camas, Washington, Rose Ferguson of Florida, and Crystal Thomas of Camas, Washington; brothers Donald A. Davis of Camas, Washington, Franklin G. Davis of Camas, Washington, and Glen Davis of Tacoma, Washington; sisters Dorothy Doschadis of Wilmot, South Dakota, Betty Scheuffele of Camas, Washington, Janet Milhollin of Camas, Washington, and Barbara Voogt of Camas, Washington; sixteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. There will be a celebration of Richard's life on Saturday, December 10th at 1:00 pm at Parkside Church: 1420 NE 3rd Avenue, Camas, WA 98607. Private interment with full military honors will be held at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas, Washington. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
