Margaret Alice Doucette peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver. Born on November 24, 1944 in Springfield, Massachusetts to William and Alice (Samol) Lawton; Margaret was 66 years old. A Camas resident for the last year, Margaret worked overseas for the State Department as a Registered Nurse. She served in Armenia, Russia, Israel, and Mali. She was a member of the Baha'I Faith and will be remembered for her love of Russian Blue cats. Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 14 years James E. Doucette at home; daughters Natasha. T. Wetherill of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jennifer J. Burian of Portland, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lara T. Taylor in 1993. There will be a public service at a later date. Private burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Memorials in Margaret's honor may be sent to the Washington State American Society Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
