Muzett Koontz passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 in Washougal, Washington. Born on October 19, 1920 in Sioux City, Iowa, Muzett was 85 years old. Muzett lived the last 42 years at home in Dalton Gardens Idaho. She was a member of The First Christian Church since 1965, serving as a financial secretary for 20 years. She was a school mentor in reading for second graders and received a Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions in the PTA. She also served as the Chief Judge for the local elections since the mid 1970's. She enjoyed reading, bowling, teddy bear collecting, watching the Seattle Mariners and Gonzaga Basketball. Most of all, she loved her family and her Lord. Muzett is survived by her husband of 49 years Roland "Ron" Koontz at home, sons John Koontz and wife Judy of Washougal, and Dennis and wife Carol Koontz of Post Falls, Idaho, daughter Peggy Sue Lockman and friend David Raichel of Battle Ground, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life service for Muzett at a later date at The First Christian Church in Idaho. To send condolences or to sign the online guestbook, please visit www.brownsfh.com.
