Obituary of Kaylynn Simmons

Kaylynn Jeanette Simmons passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2006 in Vancouver. Born on February 11, 1953 in Roseau, Minnesota, Kaylynn was 53 years old. Kaylynn worked as a legal secretary before becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, reading, visiting the Oregon Coast, taking pictures, and looking at lilacs. Most of all, Kaylynn will be remembered for her love for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Kaylynn is survived at home by her husband Merle Simmons whom she married in 1986, daughters Kelly Satterfield of Vancouver, and Vernette "Nettie" Kaml of Washougal, sons Steven Simmons of Cape Coral, Florida, Michael Simmons of Vancouver, and Vernon "JR" Kaml Jr. of Woodland, Washington, mother Eleanore Qualey of Minnesota, sisters Kristine Brateng and Karla Qualey, both of Minnesota, and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by family members Karen Simmons (1985), Kenneth Qualey (1989), Thomas Qualey (1945), and Vernon Kaml Sr. (1981). There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Kaylynn on Saturday, November 18th at 2:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Viewing will be the same day from 9-2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 20th at 1:00 pm at the Camas Cemetery. Memorials in Kaylynn's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Doernbecher's Children's Hospital, or to the American Parkinson's Disease Association. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
