Obituary of Marie Lancaster

Marie Lancaster peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 in Vancouver. Born on April 21, 1927 in Red Oak, Iowa, Marie was 79 years old. Marie grew up in West Plains, Missouri on a dairy farm before coming to the Vancouver area in 1944. She met Gordon Lancaster while he was roofing a chicken house in Washougal. They were married in 1954 and settled in Fern Prairie where she would work as a homemaker for the next 53 years. Marie enjoyed quilting, knitting, fishing, her cats, and especially her family and friends. Marie is survived by her three daughters Raye Clift of Grayland, WA, Ellen Lancaster of Camas, and Sarah Lancaster of Camas, sister Della Mae Griffith of Vancouver, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Gordon Lancaster (1987), and sister Betty Ann Hadley Brooks. There will be a private memorial for Marie at a later date. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
