Obituary of Ronald Proctor

Ronald Gordon Proctor peacefully passed away with his family by his side at his home in Camas on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Born on October 24, 1934 in Los Angeles, California Ron was 76 years old. A Camas resident for fifty years, Ron previously lived in Bend, Oregon and Los Angeles, California. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War Era. Ron went to work for the Tidland Corporation in Camas, retiring in 1996 and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers #1374. Outside of work, Ron enjoyed gold mining, collecting coins, woodworking, RVing, camping, traveling to the Oregon Coast, and spending time with his family and friends. Ron is survived by his loving wife of forty years Margie at home; daughter Susan (Bryan) Hillman of Camas; sons Jeff (Belinda) Hickey of Washougal, and Steve (Kelly) Hickey of Washougal; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Orville Johnson in 1986, mother Vada Johnson in 2009, sister Susan Clark in 1972, and brother James Proctor in 1991. There will be a celebration of Ron's life on Wednesday, February 16th at 10:00 am at Brown's Funeral Home: 410 NE Garfield St., Camas, WA 98607. Vault Interment will follow at the Camas Cemetery. A reception will be held at Journey Community Church: 304 NE 4th Avenue, Camas, WA 98607. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 15th from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas.
