Helen Elaine King peacefully passed away at her home in Vancouver on Thursday, February 10, 2011. Born on January 20, 1923 in Portland, Oregon to George and Julia (Houghton) McKenzie; Helen was 88 years old.
A lifetime Portland/Vancouver resident, worked as a secretary and treasurer in the business industry. She was a member of Calvary Community Church in Camas and volunteered for over twenty years for East Moreland Hospital. Helen enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, going on cruises, and fishing. Most importantly to Helen was spending time with her family and loving her Lord.
Helen is survived by her sons Fred (Judy) King of Washougal, and Joel (Laura) King of Oregon City, Oregon; daughters Melissa Sullivan of Portland, Oregon, and Margaret Lois King of Redland, Oregon; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred S. King in 1985, son Timothy J. King in 1986, and daughter Carrie Ann King in 1971.
There will be a private family service only. Vault interment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
