Obituary of Joyce Berry

Joyce Nelson Berry peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver. Born on November 20, 1929 in Charleston, South Carolina to Cecil and Mae (Patterson) Nelson; Joyce was 81 years old. A 58 year Washougal resident, Joyce enjoyed coin collecting, casino trips, estate sales and cooking. She will be remembered most for her love she had for her friends and family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her daughters Sharon (Earl) Crandall of Camas, Janet Berry of Florida, and Wanda (Ken) Handley of Washougal; sons Merle Berry of Washougal, and Kenneth (Debbi) Berry of Carson, WA; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Robert Berry in 2007. There will be a graveside service for Joyce on Tuesday, March 1st at 12:00 pm at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Viewing will be held on Monday, February 28th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home: 410 NE Garfield St. Camas, WA 98607. Memorials in Joyce's honor may be sent to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA): 424 E. 92nd St, New York, NY 10128-6804. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
