Ronald Ray Bennett peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Ray Hickey Hospice House in Vancouver. Born on September 15, 1931 in Portland, Oregon to Allen and Beryl (Ackley) Bennett; Ron was 79 years old. A resident of White Salmon, Washington for the last 57 years, Ron worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Klickitat County. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, member of the American Legion, and a member of the Grace Baptist Church in White Salmon. Ron is survived by his loving wife Lucille at home; daughter Rhonda Hicks of Washougal, Cindy Van Gelder of Vancouver, Bridget Sauzon of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and ten grandchildren. There will be a celebration of Ronald's life on Sunday, March 27th at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church: 1280 West Jewett Boulevard; White Salmon, WA 98672. Interment will be held at the White Salmon Cemetery in White Salmon. Memorials in Ronald's memory may be sent to The Ray Hickey Hospice House: PO Box 1600; Vancouver, WA 98661. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
