Carlos John Santos Jr. passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Born on June 2, 1952 in Bronx, New York to Carlos and Marta (Arce) Santos; Carlos was 58 years old.
A Vancouver resident since 1991, Carlos was formerly of Sacramento, California. Carlos was a Veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War; retiring in 1991 as a Master Sergeant. During his service he received the NCO of the year award and was a member of the Sergeant's Association. He went to work for the Clark County Sherriff's Office as a property officer, and worked for thirteen years for Swanson Services Inc. of Denver, Colorado. Known for being a wine and music connoisseur, Carlos enjoyed listening to jazz and playing the piano. He will forever be remembered as being a dedicated husband, dad, and grandfather.
Carlos is survived by his loving wife of twenty seven years Lorene Santos at home; step-daughter Brenda Renee (Richard) Turnbow of Vancouver; step-son Brian Keith Munsterman of Sacramento, California; mother Marta Santos of Palmdale, California; sisters Ines Santos of New Jersey and Aida Kortright of Palmdale, California; brother Eddie Santos of Texas; and granddaughters Ashley, Reanna, and Meghan Turnbow all of Vancouver.
There will be a celebration of Carlos' life with full Military Honors on Tuesday, April 12th at 11:00 am at Grace Foursquare Church in Camas. Memorials in Carlos' honor may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
