Clayton Dale Nelson peacefully passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011 at his home in Vancouver, Washington with his family by his side. Born on August 21, 1941 in Ebro, Minnesota to George and Lenora (Johnson) Nelson, Clayton was sixty-nine years old.
A Vancouver resident since 1964, Clayton went to work for Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill in Camas before retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor for Georgia Pacific Paper Mill in Camas. He was an avid woodworker and fan of model airplanes. Clayton enjoyed camping, traveling, photography, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.
Clayton is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Elsie at home; daughters Lori (Jason) Wood of Vancouver, and Charmie (Robert) Dyer of Vancouver; sons James (Ronda) Greger of Vancouver, Mike (Tammy) Nelson of Pennsylvania, and Don (Denahl) Greger of Camas; sister Leona (Joe) Pytel of Florida; thirteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sister Arlene Little.
A celebration of Clayton's life was held at the Nelson's residence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clayton's memory may be sent to Hospice Southwest. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
