Obituary of Marjorie Leonice Medina

Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marjorie Leonice Henderson was born in Wilson Beach, New Brunswick, Canada August 17, 1919 into a family of fishermen. She was the fourth of fourteen children born to William Henry Henderson and Esther Minzie (Porter) Henderson. At the age of five the family relocated to Eastport, Maine followed by another move to Portland, Maine after a tragic incident at sea which took the lives of her father and two older brothers. Marjorie married Donald Harris in 1936 and had daughter Joanne. Both preceded her in death. In 1948 she married Aubrey Long, a musician who recorded World War II bond jingles, thus began Marjorie's world of music. They had four children, Daniel W., Audrey R., Leonard C. and Alan J. She primarily raised her children in Bonnydoon in the hills above Santa Cruz, California. This is when and where Marjorie learned to preserve and be content no matter her circumstances. She liked to square dance and their corn roasting parties were the place to be. Marjorie played the upright Bass. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Leonard and Alan. Marjorie also preceded her last two husbands, Hershel Walters and Anthony Medina, in death. Marjorie is survived by her sisters, Hazel Ballantine of Maine and Helen Nelson of Texas. Her children, Daniel W. of Camas, Washington and Audrey R. Krassow of South Lake Tahoe, California, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren. Following cremation Marjorie's ashes will be scattered on Mt. Hood with her sons, Leonard and Alan. Marjorie will be remembered by her dedication to her family, her love for music especially when performed by her sons, her infectious smile, and her unfailing faith that God is good, all the time.
