Gene Ernest Thompson passed away on March 7, 2015. He was 84 years old.
Gene was born to his parents Harold Earnest and Rebecca Lucille Thompson on July 5, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force, and served in the Korean War. Gene was nearly a lifetime resident of Clark County, working for and retiring from the James River Paper Mill in Camas. He was a member of the Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene, and a former member of the A.W.P.P.W local #5. He was also a member of the Volcano A's Model A Club, and a member of Gideon’s International.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Marlene R. at home, his five sons: Gene (wife Judy) Thompson Jr. of Camas; Thomas Thompson of Goldendale, WA; Daniel (wife Kristina) Thompson of Vancouver; Bradley (wife Twana) Thompson of Vancouver and Joe (wife Dawn) Thompson of Camas; his daughter Lana Thompson of Vancouver, son-in-law Cliff Weygandt of Vancouver, 25 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other beloved grandchildren, his brother Wayne Thompson of Castle Rock, and his sister Sherry Baab of Anderson, CA.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, hid daughter Wendee Weygandt, and two sisters, Betty Lush and Wilma Franklin.
A celebration of Gene’s life will take place Monday, March 16, 2015 at Grace Foursquare Church at 3 PM. A private family burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Brown’s Funeral Home.
