Obituary of Esther Mae Powell-Marsengill

Esther Mae Powell-Marsengill passed away on July 9, 2015. She was 95 years old. Esther was born on September 13, 1919 in Portland, Oregon. A lifetime Camas resident, Esther was not only a homemaker and a housewife, but she was also the proud foster parent of well over 100 children since World War 2. She loved to crochet and knit, she enjoyed taking care of her farm, horseback riding, gardening, and dancing at the Moose. She was a woman with a huge heart, and loved helping her foster children. Esther is survived by her three daughters: Maureen, Kathleen and Patricia; her eight grandchildren: Christina, Shelley, Sandra, Richard, Robin, Vickie, Clayton and Mickey; as well as 19 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren! She was preceded in death by two husbands, and a grandson. There will be no public service held for Esther. Brown’s Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
