Marvin Perry Foster, age 85 of Vancouver, passed away on December 8, 2015. He was 85 years old.
Marvin was born on May 15, 1930, In Vancouver, Washington. He was a long time resident of Camas/Washougal, and retired from James River paper mill after 42 years. Marvin served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and was very active in his community. He was a member of North Bank Lodge #182 F.&A.M.; Bennet Barnett Post #27 American Legion; Lake Havasu Fraternal Order of Eagles; Life member of the Lake Havasu Elks Lodge #2399; Lake Havasu Marine Corp League; American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO; former mayor and councilman of the City of Washougal; and former councilman for the City of Camas. Marvin volunteered at the London Bridge Information Center in Lake Havasu, Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center, and at St. Joseph Hospital in Vancouver.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 29 years Norma Jane Foster at home, his sons: Russel (Judy) Foster of Stilicum, WA; David (Natalie) Foster of Everett, WA; Dale (Sandi) Dawson of Vancouver, and Kenneth (Sheleen) Ediger of Gresham; his daughters: Pamela Hunter of Lake Havasu; Janice Dawson of Lakeside, OR; Katherine (John) Eichorn of Portland; and Pam (Larry) Sadewasser of Washougal; his brother Don (Bernadine) Foster of La Pine, OR; sister Shirley Douglas of Vancouver, 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers.
A celebration of Marvin’s colorful life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Wednesday December 16, 2015 at 11 AM, with a burial to follow at Camas Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Brown’s Funeral Home.
