Obituary of Robert LaFollette Jensvold

Robert LaFollette Jensvold passed away on January 30, 2016. He was 87 years old.
Robert was born on January 4, 1929 to his parents Charles and Gertrude Jensvold in Mountain Brook, Washington. He married Jean Wildish in Eugene, Oregon in 1955 and has been a resident of Camas for the past 20 years.
Robert graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, OR. At Oregon State University, he participated on the cross country track team and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry. He served in the US Coast Guard, attended Officer’s Candidate School in New London, Connecticut, served on a ship in Alaska during the Korean War and was discharged with the rank of Lieutenant. After the Coast Guard, he worked in the industrial forest products field his entire career before retiring from Georgia Pacific in 1994.
Robert enjoyed volunteering at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum in Washougal. He was a member of the Camas United Methodist Church, Sons of Norway, and a long-time member of the Osprey walking group. Robert enjoyed keeping in touch with his A.T.O. fraternity brothers from Oregon State University as well as those he served with in the US Coast Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jean, his three sons: Jim, Marty (wife Liz), and John (wife Heidi); four grandchildren: Kyle, Brian (wife Aurora), Hannah; and Kelly; as well as his sister June Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Art, Don, Martin Fraley, and Bill Fraley; and two sisters: Charleen Wilbur and Betty Fraley.
A celebration of Robert’s life will take place on February 20th at 1 pm at the Camas Methodist Church. Those who wish may make a contribution in Robert’s name to the Two Rivers Heritage Museum, P.O. Box 204, Washougal, WA 98671. Arrangements are under the care of Brown’s Funeral Home.
