Carolyn Matyas passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2007 in Vancouver. Born on September 15, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, Carolyn was 70 years old.
Carolyn worked as an elementary school teacher in various school districts across the United States ranging from Hawaii to Maryland. She enjoyed traveling, classical music, reading quality literature, and reading mysteries.
She is survived by her niece Penny Johnsrud of Washougal, nephew Kurt Henritzy of Portland, and sister Ann Armstrong of Michigan. She was preceded in death by brothers Steve Matyas, Joseph Matyas, and Robert Matyas, and sisters Helen Murphy, Irene Upthegrove, Rose Henritzy, and Elizabeth "Betty" Oehler.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Carolyn on Monday, October 1st at 3:00 pm at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
