Obituary of Sawyer Claire Schultz

Sawyer Claire Schultz passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2016 at the age of 22 from a pulmonary embolism. Sawyer was born in Louisville, Kentucky to her parents Donmarie and Jody Schultz on February 23, 1994. When Sawyer was four years old her family moved to Camas. Sawyer was a member of the Vancouver Lake Crew team in high school and graduated from both Camas High School and Clark Community College with an A.A in 2012. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Ultrasound from Seattle University in 2016. Sawyer had just embarked on her career as a sonographer at Legacy Emanuel Hospital specializing in high risk pregnancy. She was respected and admired by her colleagues and patients and showed great promise to be exceptional in her chosen field. Sawyer treasured her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, kindness and love of life. She is survived by her parents: Donmarie and Jody Schultz; her sister Nicole Guido, her brother Dillon Schultz; 2 nieces; her paternal grandparents Sharon and Richard Schultz, paternal grandfather John Blickensdorf, her maternal grandmother Jean Swank; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of Sawyer's life will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at New Heights East Church, 1902 NE 185th Ave., Vancouver, WA at 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate your donations to New Heights Medical Clinic. The clinic provides medical services free of charge, for those in need to the local community.
