My sister, Lucy, and I grew up on Tenth Street in Camas, across from the Mallatts. Pat was my best friend for years and Joan and Lucy were best friends. We loved the Mallatts!
We both moved to California after high school, and had only occasional contact, but for the last few years Lucy and Joan kept in touch daily by email, and we visited about every other year. We are so saddened by Joan's death and send condolences to her family.
