Peggy Lucille Dowell, longtime Washougal resident, passed away Friday, August 17th at her home amongst family.
Peggy was born in North Carolina, where she would later meet her husband Bobbie. The couple then relocated to the PNW where they raised their son Roy Dowell. She spent time in business school prior to opening her own beauty salon. From there, she was known as a homemaker for some time before becoming the first ever female maintenance worker for the Crown Zeller Paper Mill in Camas, WA – a title which she proudly stood by until her retirement from the paper mill industry.
Peggy was always known as a hard-worker, but also enjoyed gardening and travel; her and Bobbie were “snow birds” who often spent their winters in Arizona where they owned property. Most of all, Peggy loved spending time with family and was a doting mother and grandmother to her son and grandkids.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobbie Dowell and son Roy Dowel, Peggy leaves behind two grandchildren, Kyle Dowell (Polly Primeaux), and Chelsea Dowell.
At Peggy’s request, there will be no public services held at this time. Flowers and condolences can be sent to 410 NE Garfield St, Camas, WA 98607.
