Obituary of LaVerne Maurine Stein

LaVerne Maurine Stein passed away on September 20, 2018 in Everett, Washington. She was 83 years old. 

LaVerne was born on October 11, 1934 in Denver, Colorado to her parents Viola and Theodore Van Deest. 
She was a 30 year Washougal resident, and a member of the Presbyterian Church. LaVerne earned her Bachelor's degree from Washington State University Vancouver, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed golf. 

LaVerne is survived by her sons Daniel (wife Deena), Stuart (wife Valerie) and James (wife Valerie), 12 grandchildren, her brother William, and her sisters Nadine, Viola and Vera. She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald, her sister Arline, her husband Michael Stein Sr. and her son Michael Stein Jr.

A celebration of life service will take place Saturday, September 29 at the Longview Community Church, Gebert Chapel, at 11 AM. A graveside committal will take place at the Salkum Cemetery on Wilcox Road at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, those who wish are welcome to donate to The Walk to End Alzheimer's, Team Brookdale Silver Lake. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown's Funeral Home.
