Jake and I met at Spokane Falls. I liked him right away and he, myself and other friends used to hang out often. We lost touch after college and a mutal friend who lives in Germany asked about him recently. I found him on Facebook and we both tried to reach out, but no response. Soon my friend found out he passed away. I was deeply saddened to hear this! My sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones. He had a solid character, great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. Rest in peace brother.

My deepest condolences to the Hartley family. I only knew Jake from the Army in Schofield Barracks, HI. The time we spent was really fun and memorable. Our unit deactivated and life happened that we all moved on elsewhere. It was only recently that we all reconnected on FaceBook and Messenger. We were planning a reunion , but the COVID-19 happened and our plans were halted. Jake was probably the most excited about most of us getting together again. We all still chatted and sometimes a video chat. I have been deeply saddened by this loss because Jake was the youngest of our group. When we reconnected , I told Jake that he has a beautiful family. I was fortunate to be able talk to Jake a couple of times and of course some memories and laughter. I Love you Jake, like a Brother. R.I.P. my friend, until we meet again.
