I just ran across this obituary. I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Mark at PacifiCorp and found him to be one of the most knowledgeable, caring, and hilarious people I interacted with. He was one of my close confidants during some tumultuous times there. He and I talked (and joked) often about our Scandinavian heritage and its quirks. I had lost track of him the last several years and was hoping to reconnect.

I have so many fond memories of my big cousin Mark, treating me with patience and good humor when I wanted to jump into his arms the second he arrived to our house when I was a child. Mark's visits to our home brought laughter and light. Mark taught me patience, humor and kindness, and I will always love him and his gentle spirit. Much love, Signe Land

Mark had a genuinely kind soul. As a co-worker at BPA, he always talked to me with such compassion and kindness. He adored his family very much, especially his daughters and was always proud of their achievements. He touched many lives and he will be missed by so many people. May you rest in gentle peace. You left this world too soon, but may you find comfort in the arms of our Lord.

Mark was more than a boss... He was my friend. He took a genuine interest in my life. He always made sure to stop by desk to ask about my kids and see how I was doing. He knew the true meaning of family. From the beginning he told me that family comes first and he meant it. I praise him for that and so much more. Mark, you will forever be missed.

Mark was my first supervisor at BPA. I was an intern through the student development program and his encouragement in making a later-in-life career change helped me immensely. Mark is greatly missed at BPA-

Mark (Taco) and I grew up together next door neighbors in Bismarck ND - we played high school hockey together and were roommates in college - and yes we had a few beers and a lot of fun together - Mark was much smarter than me and went on to prove in his career- I will miss laughing till it hurt at deer camp with Mark - I made a Viking helmet for Mark that I had hoped to give to him next time he made it to deer camp - I will miss him...
