Mark Steven Bremer Sr, 71, passed away at his home in Vancouver, Washington on Jan 14th, 2021. He was born on 12/16/1949 in Longview, Washington to Emily and Merle. He is survived by his daughter, Margo Bremer(Portland); son, Mark S. Bremer Jr.(Portland); daughter, Shavon Walker(Gold Hill). His first wife, Kathy Bremer, preceded him and passed away on 4/10/2020. He is survived, by his ex-wife, Sharlene Walker. He is survived by his brother, Joe; sister, Chris; cousin, Kenny Kilde; 8 grandchildren are Bradley Wick, Travis Dedmore, Markez Be'ene, Alexzandar Bremer, Alexza Be'ene, Leander I. Lewis, Ananiya M. Walker, and Imani M. Goodson. He is survived and will be missed by his many friends in the Portland and Vancouver area. Mark graduated from Kalama High School in 1968. He played sports and enjoyed being with his friends. His mother Emily, Remarried, Ivan M. Bremer. My father changed his name from Mark S. Harris to Mark S. Bremer Sr. Mark was in the Military from July 29th, 1968 - July 28th, 1971. He was a helicopter Crew Chief in Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart for a shrapnel wound. He received the distinguished Flying Cross for heroic actions in Vietnam in June. He was also was awarded the Air Medal. I was told that he received 3 of the Third top Honors you can receive in the Military. Here is an Exact list of Honors - National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; 3 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Aircraft Crewman Badge; Distinguished Flying Cross; Air Medal w/ 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Commendation Medal w/ 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Purple Heart; Sharpshooter(Rifle M-14); Expert (Rifle M-16). I am very proud of my father. Mark worked as a Bar Manager, but most of his life he worked as a Carpenter. He was very knowledgeable, He also knew how to lay Concrete perfectly. In 2001, Mark began a new chapter in his life. He will be missed immensely and remembered every day. May God take care of him now.
