Although I never met your father, I was interested in him and his family because we are distantly related. My maternal great grandmother, Maggie Bethune Harris, is sitting on the far left in this photo. She’s holding my daughter. That’s my grandmother, my mother, and me on the far right. This photo was taken over 50 years ago in Lake Village, Arkansas where my grandmother was the manager of Southwestern Bell.
I can see the family resemblance between my Grandma Harris, as we called her, and Kenneth Bethune. Grandma Harris may have been Kenneth’s great aunt. She passed in the early 1980s.
Please accept my condolences on your loss. Your father seems like such a wonderful man. I enjoyed reading the tributes.
Cathy Zach and Bonnie Wheeler help me with knowing the Bethune side of my family tree as does my mother. If you are ever this way, please let me know. My email is DanaKervin@TheARKGroup.org.
My deepest sympathy,
Dana Kay Kervin

I have very few childhood memories to share of my family on my father's side but my Uncle Kenneth, Aunt Hazel and those four cousins hold a special place on my family tree. Our group grows smaller on earth but a larger gathering awaits us when we get back together in heaven. I pray for God's blessings and comfort for us all.

There are so many special memories to share. When I think about my Grandfathers life I think about his extraordinary spirit and will. There was never a time that he didn’t have a smile on his face. He danced, he played golf, he taught me to enjoy every minute of this life and to never give up! He never gave up on anything. He lived a Beautiful Life filled with Love and Laughter. ❤️

I had the pleasure of working with Ken at the Camas Paper Mill. Such a kind, knowledgeable, supportive man who was always willing to help the rest of us in any way he could. Condolences to the family.
