I only knew Maria for six years. For the last several years her cubicle was across from mine. I used to bring cookies in from Fred Meyer and once in a while would bake something but nothing compared to the chocolate chip cookies that Maria would make. I think we all looked forward to when she would bring them in. When Covid hit, many of the staff would work several days a week from home so it was hard to figure out when someone was sick. Then came the email that Maria was sick and was in need of donated sick time. I am sure that many donated to her because we all cared for her very much. Maria was such a light to those around her. Then came the shocking email that hit like a brick. Maria was gone. Many of us were devastated by the news. Things will never be the same with her passing. Nothing or nobody will fill her void in our hearts. I don't know if she believed in God or Jesus but I chose to believe that He has a special place prepared for her in Heaven because that was who she was. She was a good and decent woman.

Maria was such an awesome person to know, she was caring and giving and laughed often; I always loved being around her. She will truly be missed by many. I knew her from various social functions and book club - she had really good insight into the books we were reading together. Hugs, thoughts and prayers to all her family and friends who are grieving her passing.

I have a hard time remembering when I did not know Maria. Our kid's grew up together. We belonged to the same church. She taughrt my kids. Our lives were always intertwined. When ever I saw her, no matter how long it had been, she was always there with a smile, an open heart and a warm embrace. The world is a bit sadder with out this beautiful soul and her bright light. Her family meant everything to her. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that knowing how much she was truly loved by all who's lives she touched will bring you peace.

Maria was my dearest friend and who I frequently refered to as my "work mom." She was there for me when I truly needed someone. She was one of my biggest supporters and was always there when I needed advice and even scolded me a few times. I love her very much and will miss her always. There is a small piece of my heart that she took with her that will only be filled when we meet again. Thank you Mama Maria for everything! You will be my guide when I look to the stars. Love you.

My heart is breaking…
I couldn’t sleep last night after hearing of Maria’s passing. I first met her when my kids were lucky to have her as their teacher in preschool. We remained good friends through the years. She was beyond amazing, full of warmth and anyone who came in to contact with her felt that special light. A genuine angel, my life was better knowing her. Sending so much love to her family.

My heart is breaking hearing about Maria's passing. I worked with her 30 years ago at the Pizza Palace. I have many wonderful memories with her during those 6 years. She was also my children's preschool teacher and because of her I also decided early learning was what I wanted to do. She has touched so many lives with her kind loving heart. My sincere sympathy goes out to her family. She was one of a kind.

Words cannot express how sad we are to hear Maria has died. We have so many fun memories of softball days and great gatherings. She was instrumental for us when we learned our Danny would have Down Syndrome. Her support was never ending! Jacob and Christina send their love too. Their memories of her are filled with her kindness. You are all in our prayers as we know the days and years ahead will never be the same.
She will be that angel watching over us now!
All our love,
Dave and Kathy Lundy
