Obituary of Laura Alice Harrington

Please share a memory of Laura to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Laura Alice Harrington passed away on March 31, 2022, in Vancouver, WA, at 72. Laura was born in Vancouver, WA, on August 28, 1949. Laura graduated High School in Stevenson, WA, and after graduation, she became an army wife and worked in retail, bookkeeping, childcare, and as a homemaker. Her large family will mourn Laura as she was always forgiving, accepting, and caring. Laura leaves behind her daughter Debbie Carnes and son Brian "Charlie" Harrington, and her four grandchildren; Alex Harrington, Eva Harrington, Fiona Carnes, and Kira Carnes. Laura was the firstborn daughter of nine children; she was highly regarded by all her siblings. Laura's mother, Margaret Hayes, sisters Crystal Bailey and Bonnie Hayes, along with her brothers Leslie Hayes, Raymond Hayes, Norman Hayes, Charles Hayes, Steven Hayes, and partner Allan Bliss, will continue to remember Laura's influence on their lives. Laura is preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years Robert Harrington, her father, Delbert Hayes, and youngest brother Randy Hayes. Laura was a kid magnet. She had a unique ability to make sure each child felt special and they never forgot it. This gift was apparent as many children adored her. Laura's unique connection with children began with her siblings. It carried on throughout her life as she cared for and nurtured her nieces, nephews, and numerous other children. Laura's door was always open, and she would greet her family and friends with a warm embrace. Laura had a way of providing unconditional love, a safe environment, laughter, and understanding, so many will mourn her passing. We will celebrate Laura's life as she has reunited with her husband Rob, together resting in peace. Later this spring or early summer, a memorial service will be held at Laura's home. Family and friends will, once again, sit in her beautiful backyard, taking in its splendor, and reminisce about how much she loved being there. Laura remained fond of her childhood home in Stabler, WA so her ashes will be placed with her husband's at the blue hole in the Wind River, under the high bridge after her memorial service. All who knew and loved her are welcome. Please contact Laura's children or Brown's Funeral Home & Cremation Services (360-834-3692) in Camas, Washington, for more details.
