Victor C. Heuvel, Sr. (78) of Vancouver, Washington passed away surrounded by his loving family during the early morning hours of Father's Day, June 19th, 2022 and into the arms of his Heavenly Father. Victor entered this world on Thursday, August 5th, 1943 in Vancouver, Washington to the home of John C. & Hellen L. Heuvel Jr. He attended high school in Battle Ground, Washington and joined the United States Navy on October 14th, 1960, serving aboard the Amphibious Attack Transport Ship, USS Renville, APA-227. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Victor Worked in the logging industry which brought him to Ketchikan, Alaska where he met Henrietta Dundas, whom he was married to until their divorce in 1977. Victor never remarried, often saying, "I am just a one woman man." During the late 1970s Victor's life was forever transformed when he knelt at the altar of Washougal, Washington's Calvary Temple Church and accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior, answering years of prayer by his mother. Victor worked as custodian, longtime member of Laborer's Local 335 of Vancouver, WA and Owner/Operator of "Squeaky Clean Window Washing" until his retirement. In 1978 Victor loaded his three children into the car to drive and camp across America from Vancouver, WA for 4th of July at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, PA, Elvis' "Graceland" in Memphis, among many other places. In the 1980s Victor's life again took a new direction when he attended a "D.T.S." (Discipleship Training School) through "Youth With A Mission" (aka: "YWAM"). Victor participated in several "YWAM" mission trips to China, Hong Kong and The Philippines as well working as a volunteer at YWAM's "University of Nations" in Kona, Hawaii for several months each year, until recently due to age and deteriorating health. Victor graduated from Eugene Bible College in the 1990s prior to receiving his High School. Diploma in 2011. He also helped build an orphanage in Japan as a volunteer laborer. During many Christmas seasons through 2021, shoppers - young and old, at the Cascade Park Walmart in Vancouver, WA, had their pictures taken with Santa (aka: Victor) the Salvation Army Bell Ringer. Most recently, Victor attended Saturday evening services at Living Hope Church in Vancouver, WA and Salmon Falls Chapel in Washougal, WA on Sunday mornings To know Victor was to know two things: #1 His enjoyment of coffee anytime/anywhere, many a waitress would hear, "Keep the top half full and the bottom will take care of itself." #2 "Victor Loved To Eat!" While Victor was not "picky about his food", he did have a few preferences, such as - "Yuban" coffee, meat - blood rare, "Best Foods Mayonnaise", lots of r-e-a-l butter "Do you know what is in margarine?", homemade chicken and noodles, macaroni and cheese, among others. Victor would then liberally douse every helping of food with salt (Preferably Sea Salt) prior to tasting. Just last year in 2021 Victor was thrilled to shoot his first elk, which was added to his freezer. Most of all though, Victor's greatest joy was spending time with his Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, whom he loved and was so very proud of. Preceded in death by both of his parents and older brother: John C. Heuvel III; Victor's legacy lives on though his children: Bernice R. Bacon (Tony), Victor C.
