Obituary of Crystal May Cannaday
Please share a memory of Crystal to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Crystal May Cannaday peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Aunt Paula Henry's home in Portland, OR with mom (Crstal May Ford), Aunt Paula, Tony, Chuck, Coda & Scrappy (dogs) by her side. She was born in Portland, OR at Providence Hospital on May 30, 2008 to formerly known as Crystal May Michels and Willie D. Cannaday, Jr. Crystal was 14 years old when she passed away.
Crystal was an amazing young lady that loved to learn new things. She was approaching her new journey into high school. During middle school, she was diagnosed with Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Cancer and the Cancer cells changed into more aggressive called Acute Myeloid Leukemia Cancer.
Crystal was so full of life and loved everyone around her. She was incredibly talented when it came to her drawings/paintings that she sketched from scratch. Crystal was also learning how to kayak, shoot a compound bow for 3-D foam targets, making jewelry, riding horses, camping, playing card games with adults. She was loved by everyone around her from family/friends and new people that she met along the way.
Even though she went through a fiery trial of cancer, she was very sensitive and thoughtful to other's needs. She encouraged and lifted up those who were hurting rather than giving attention to herself, while she endured excruciating pain.
Crystal May Cannaday will be remembered and forever in our hearts, of her selfless acts of thoughtfulness which demonstrated pure love for others. She taught us valuable lessons of bravery and courage, to endure hardships with a smile and incredible thoughtfulness towards others who were hurting. She left behind a legacy of "Do unto others as, you want down to yourself" and that is to accept and love everyone whether rich or poor, color of skin to forgive others when they do you wrong and to treat everyone equal and with kindness.
