Donna Del Monico Obituary

Donnie “Donna” Ruth Del Monico (Blocker) was born on Friday, April 7, 1939 in Madera, CA to Lawson “William” Blocker and Louise “Dorothy” Goodnight.

Donna spent her last days with three generations of grandchildren who cared for her until the end on Friday, August 30th, 2024 in Kelso, WA.

As a child, she grew up on the family farm, where she enjoyed the many animals and worked in the fields. Donna graduated from Sandy High School in 1957, then married her first husband, and together they had three children.

She later remarried Kenneth “Del” Del Monico, and together they lived a busy life full of family, friends, travels, and many nights at the Elks Lodge. She was a member of the Vancouver Emblem Club, where she was Sister of the Year from 1990-1991, State President from 1996-1997, and Supreme President from 2010-2011, and enjoyed the duties that came along with each position. She loved spending time with her fellow Emblem sisters and attending all of the gatherings they would put together, such as holiday celebrations, tea parties, fashion shows, and dinners.

When she was home, she spent her time gardening, tending to all of her gorgeous outdoor flowers, or on the patio enjoying a cocktail.

Nothing brought her more joy though than when her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and, in the end, great-great-grandson, and namesake, Monico would come to visit.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, Kenneth and Leo Blocker; husband, Kenneth Del Monico; daughter, Deborah Marks; stepdaughter, Cheri Cuthbertson; nephew, James Blocker; nieces, Laura and Lori Blocker; and great-granddaughter, Jada-Marie Race.

She is survived by her two brothers, Bob and Ted Blocker; sister, Shirley Phelps; daughter, Diana Kelley; son, Dennis Bogle Jr.; stepdaughter, Carol Del Monico; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nicole, Ashley, Dennis, Stephanie, Jacqueline, Robert, and Laurie; great-grandchildren, Enrique, Lilyonna, De'Vontia, Kaden, Elijah, Savannah, Cheyenne, Ethan, Bentley, Charlotte, Kennedy, Danika, Amelia, Jax, Alyssa, Kayla, Tara, Rachael, Aaron, Austin, Riley Rose and Oliver; and great-great-grandchildren, Calvin, Neal, and Monico.
