MARILYN (CLARK) SEEDS May 27, 1928 ~ March 3, 2013 Marilyn (Clark) Seeds, longtime Camas, Washington resident, died March 3, 2013 in Longview, Washington, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Marilyn was born in Oakley, Idaho, on May 27, 1928. As a child, her family farmed and raised sheep and cattle. Marilyn was a tomboy, driving tractor and horse teams, and was an accomplished equestrienne. She graduated from Burley High School in 1946. At the University of Idaho, Marilyn was a soloist for the Vandaleer choir at the age of 19. She belonged to Delta Delta Delta Sorority, and Sigma Alpha Iota Music Honorary Society. Marilyn married Hal Seeds on November 25, 1950 in Burley, Idaho. The couple spent their married life living in Washington, Oregon, California, Louisiana, and British Columbia. They lived in Camas from 1972 until 2005, when they moved to Longview. Marilyn was an accomplished musician, both as a singer, piano teacher, choir director and accompanist. She spent her life sharing her musical gifts with others. She was a guest soloist in the L.D.S church-wide music festival in Salt Lake City, and was chosen as the outstanding area vocalist. Marilyn sang many lead and supporting roles with the Vancouver Choraleers, the Brahms Singers, and the Peanut Gallery. Marilyn was proud of her role as homemaker for her husband and four children. She was an active member of her community, serving as president of the Camas-Washougal Republican Women's Club, and the local guild for the Seattle Orthopedic Hospital. She served 10 years on the Camas Library Board, 3 terms as chairperson. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Hal; brother, K. Clark; children, Steve (Sally), Matt (Shelia), Shelley Engle (John) and Lauren Princehouse (Steve); nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
