Obituary
Obituary of John Goeggel
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tyler is at peace now. Our son is soaring through the world at Godspeed and at each destination he has God and his Grandparents to hold him. He is not trapped by what he called his erratic mind. Even though it was a brilliant, beautiful, thoughtful, and caring mind, it also, in the end trapped him.
Tyler left a beautiful final letter to let everybody know that it wasn't anybody's fault and that he will be happy and at peace now. He knew how much he was loved, how proud his family was of him. He also wanted to leave a "short comment" to everybodyâ¦. if you "get depressed, have suicidal thoughts, or anything likeâ¦.get help right away". This is what he didn't do for so many years. He just kept fighting this internal battle in silence and by the time he let people into the truth, he felt it was too late. As hard as it is to believe, there were no imminent signs until he decided to let us in. Tyler never seemed depressed or unhappy. In fact, it was quite the contrary.
He was close to his family and friends, he enjoyed volunteering at the SW Humane Society, and working at Fred Meyer. He was an exceptional student and was six weeks away from completing his high school diploma at Camas High School and his Associates Degree at Clark Community College. He had been accepted at the University of North Dakota to pursue his passion to become an Air Traffic Controller.
~ To know Tyler was to love Tyler. ~
He will be missed more than any words written on paper can express by his family and all that knew him.
Tyler leaves behind his parents, John and Kim Goeggel; brother, Blake Goeggel; grandmother, Darla Kasserman; and many more extended family.
We will be celebrating his much too short life on Sat., June 1st at 11:00 a.m. Services will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, 824 NE 4th Ave. in Camas, WA.
