John Wilfred Stockton passed away on August 12, 2013. He was 84. John was born on September 15, 1928 in Seattle, WA to his parents Vernon and Esther Stockton. He worked as a carpenter and was an 11 year resident of Washougal, WA. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and a member of Cape Horn American Legion Post #122. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf, traveling, and music. John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth (at home); son, Robert Hatch of Spokane, WA; daughter, Wendy Heyes of Spokane, WA; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, David Phillips of Charlotte,NC; sister, Neysa Hibbard of Wilton, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Carla Costa. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, at 11AM at the Cape Horn American Legion, located at 10212 Washougal River Road in Washougal, WA. Memorial contributions may be made in John's name to the American Diabetes Association. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
