Obituary of Hubert Mills

Hubert Preston Mills was called into Heaven on Thursday, February 21,
2008. Born on December 29, 1919 in LeQuire, Oklahoma, Hubert was 88 years
old.
A Vancouver resident for the last two years, Hubert previously lived in
Cheney, Washington. He was a supply officer and rose to the rank of Captain in
the US Navy, serving in WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War. After his
retirement from the military he worked as a professor at Eastern Washington University
and served as Chairman of the Management Department in the School of
Business. He was a former member of the United Church of Christ in Cheney, and a
current member of the United Methodist Church in Salmon Creek. He was also a
member of the Republican National Committee and the Cheney Kiwanis. He received a
Doctorate in Business Administration and graduated from Oklahoma A&M,
Stanford School of Business, and George Washington University. Hubert was an
avid reader who enjoyed being around people. Most of all, Hubert loved his family
and his Lord.
Hubert is survived by his daughters Karen Moses and Lisa Powell, sons
Stuart Mills, John Mills, Frank Andrews, and Stephen Andrews, brothers Jay,
Gene, and Pat Mills, sisters Rena Wilson, and Rita Portwood, and ten
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Gloria Mills, second wife Rae
Mills, brothers Buster Mills and Roy Mills, and sisters Freda Havens and Norma
Crawford.
There will be a memorial service on Thursday, February 28th at 2:00 pm
at High Gate Senior Living Center at 9803 NE Hazel Dell Ave, Vancouver.
