Elsie Viola (Strunk) Tucker peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Vancouver. Born on September 28, 1921 in Camas, Elsie was 86 years old. A lifetime Camas-Washougal resident, Elsie was a Veteran of WWII serving in the United States Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. She worked for Crown Zellerbach Paper Mill in Camas before retiring in 1984. She attended Fern Prairie United Methodist Church and was a member of the Rebekah's Lodge. Elsie was an avid bowler and also enjoyed cooking and flowers. Elsie is survived by her son Tommy W. Tucker of Toledo, Oregon, sister Molina Franklin of Camas, brothers Johnny Strunk of Vancouver, and Albert Strunk of White Salmon, daughter-in-law and caregiver Paula Tucker of Washougal, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Ray Tucker in 2000, and son Jerry Tucker in 1995. There will be a graveside service for Elsie on Wednesday, May 7th at 2:00 pm at the Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas. Donations in Elsie's memory may be made to the Fern Prairie United Methodist Church: 26112 NE Brunner Road, Camas, WA 98607. Brown's Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Camas has been entrusted with arrangements.
