Robert Albyn Charlton peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008 in Vancouver, Washington at his home with his family at his side. Born on April 30, 1923 in Eureka, California to William and Hazel Charlton, Robert was 85 years old.
Robert was a Veteran of the US Army during WWII for two years. In the 1980's he moved to Browns Valley, California. He retired from Government Island in 1996.
Robert is survived by his wife Darla Charlton of Browns Valley, California, children Mildred Clark of Vancouver, Susan and Greg Stoneham of Bangor, California, Blaine and Jerryanne Charlton of Elko, Nevada, and Jerry and Tonya Charlton of Browns Valley, California, thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife Christina Charlton, brother William Charlton, and sister Susan Miller.
There will be a graveside service with full military honors on Saturday, September 13th at 1:00 pm at Ferndale Cemetery in Ferndale, California.
