Obituary of Iva Stange

Mrs. Iva May Stange of Vancouver was set free from the grip of Alzheimer's on Friday, September 12, 2008 and has returned home to be with her Lord. She was 77 years old. With an infectious laugh and a warm smile, Iva brought joy to those around her. Born in 1930 in Trenton, New Jersey, she moved with her brother "out west" to Portland in 1946. It was here that she married Mr. Walter William Stange Sr. (died 1984) and gave life to her two children. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud and received the greatest joy from being a mother. Her love and nurturing provided her children with a home anyone would envy. She is survived by her children, Walter Stange Jr. of Portland and Beth Smith of Suffolk, Virginia. In addition to her siblings, Elwood Walter Hummel, Mildred Simon, and Gladys Anderson (deceased), she has two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her friends and family will miss her dearly, but know that her deep faith has been rewarded by her Savior. Interment for Iva will take place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
